Bridge of the Gods Half Marathon, 10K and 5K is one of the coolest runs of the summer! Located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge this summer event starts in the State of Washington and then crosses over the historic Bridge of the Gods. Runners can see down to the swirling Columbia River far below on the open grate decking of the bridge. After crossing over to Oregon the race takes you on an out and back stretch on the paved Historic Columbia River Highway Trail to Moffet Creek. Runners will cross Eagle Creek, Ruckle Creek and Tanner Creek on the way. These cold mountain streams flowing through deep canyons coupled with the heavy forest canopy help keep temperatures 10-15 degrees colder than the surrounding areas for a truly cool summer run. Upon returning from the out and back route to the little town of Cascade Locks participants will run through town and then into Marine Park on the banks of the Columbia. The race finishes on Thunder Island were an amazing post-race lunch, music, and complementary massage await. Upon completing the event, runners and walkers alike can reflect on the unique opportunity to have crossed two states, five historic bridges, and finished on an island. Where else can you find more bang for your racing buck!
