Columbia Gorge Marathon, Half Marathon, and Half Marathon Relay is a true fall classic event. Located in the stunning Columbia River Gorge the event is run at the peak of the fall colors. Crimson, gold and reds adorn the thick forest canopy that participants run under. Starting in the beautiful town of Hood River, Oregon this out and back course offers views of waterfalls cascading off the steep walls of the Gorge as well as some of the most breathtaking views found anywhere as they meander along the narrow, paved Historic Columbia River Highway Trail heading east towards the little town of Mosier. Just prior to the half marathon turn around or halfway point for the outward portion of the marathon is the historic Mosier Twin Tunnels. Don’t worry there is plenty of light for participants as the engineers back in 1920 created natural windows for light in the thick basalt cliffs. Participants will finish the race on the banks of the Columbia River where an amazing offering of food awaits. Truly a foodies dream with a catered taco bar that may be the center of attention but freshly made soups, breads, and a bounty of fresh apples and pears in several varieties freshly harvested from the local Hood River Orchards awaits. Music, raffles, an amazing finisher’s medals all located in a huge heated tent complete the package for finishing participants. Not quite ready for a marathon or half marathon distance? Try our half marathon relay. The two person event requires runners to only cover 6.5 miles of running and is a great team event with your running partner. If your running partner goes by the name Fido and runs on 4 legs then we have you covered for that as well. Sign up your canine buddy and do the super fun Dog Leg Half Marathon for a dog gone good time!
