Thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Bend Classic Mile! The 2017 race will be held on July 22. All of the information below is from the 2016 event. Stay tuned for updates!
Entrants: Elite women will start first by an equalizer margin to be determined by the field. After the equalizer margin passes, elite men and an open-to-the-public community mile will start together. Community mile registrations will be limited to 100. Due to the tight time frame we have between bike races, all non-elite runners must be able to complete the mile in under 9 minutes. Race officials may direct off the course anyone who does not meet this pace.
Non-Elite Registration: Registration is now closed.
Elite Runner Registration: Registration is now closed.
The purse: Courtesy of HOKA One One, the total prize purse is $5,000, distributed five deep for men and women: $1,000, $500, $400, $250, $100. A $500 equalizer bonus to race winner (this means we have a staggered start between men and women in hopes of having a close finish between genders).
Packet Pickup: At FootZone, 842 NW Wall St, Bend, OR 97703, Friday, July 21 4-7 pm and Saturday, July 22 from noon to 5 pm.
Bibs and Hip Numbers: Your packet will have one bib and one hip number. The bib should be pinned to your clothing on your chest. The hip sticker should be stuck to the outside of your RIGHT HIP. Like so.
Race Day Schedule of Events: There is no access to the race course prior to the race. Due to the bicycle crit and crowds, please plan plenty of time to get to the correct side of the street prior to race start. You should be in the pre-start corral on the east side of Wall Street on the grass field across from the Downtown Bend Library by 6:20 pm (see map).
12-5 pm: Packet Pickup at FootZone
5:00 pm: VIP area opens
5:30 pm: Pro Cat 1-2 Women’s Cycling Crit
6:20 pm: Deadline to line up in pre-start corral

VIP area: The VIP area will be located in several tents along the block in front of FootZone. Your race bib gets you entry. You will also receive a wristband in your race bag that can be used for one guest entry. This is prime viewing for the crits and mile! The VIP area opens at 5pm and closes at 9pm. A selection of snacks will be available.
Bag drop: Located in the VIP tent area in front of FootZone. We will have boxes for your belongings while you run. These boxes will not be monitored so valuables should perhaps be left at home.
Parking: Allow yourself plenty of time to find parking as it will be scarce and may be far from the start line. We recommend using alternate means of transportation or carpooling.
