Our Employees
Collectively, we have more than 40 years of experience fitting the feet of runners, walkers, and active folks in Central Oregon. We're all runners and we have some perspective on what that means. We don't think you have to run a certain number of miles every week, be "serious", or know a special handshake to be a runner. We know that if you enjoy (or want to enjoy) getting out and moving and breathing then it's our job to make you comfortable from head to toe. It's an involved process, but we work to make it easy. Many of us are also bikers, skiers, swimmers, spouses, parents, gardeners, knitters, potters, and hopefully quality members of the community. Thank you for the support!
Teague HatfieldFootwear Buyer/Owner
Teague opened FootZone in 1995 and has owned it since 1999. Teague and his wife Tami have a first grader (Sam) and a 3 year-old (Hannah) to keep them busy. Teague is not only a complete shoe geek but an active runner, biker and skier.
Colleen MoyerManager
Colleen has been a vital part of FootZone for 6 years. An active runner (she’s completed more than 15 ultra-marathons), skier, and general rockstar, she shares her life and enjoyment of all these activities with her husband, Jason.
Rob DeClerkManager
For the past three years, Rob is one of the folks who keeps everything ticking at FootZone. His passion for activity (run, ski, bike), general good nature and master shoe-fitting skills are only part of what makes him such a great Zoner. When Rob’s not taking care of you at FootZone, you’ll likely find him trying to keep up with his equally active fiancée, Amy.
Dave ThomasonAka Superdave
Dave’s an icon in this town, and rightly so. He is race director for some of the best events you’ll find anywhere (Dirty Half, Dirty 2nd Half, Horse Butte 10 Miler, and new this year: the Flagline 50K). He’s worked at FootZone for nearly 14 years and now splits his time between selling shoes, race directing and raising his nearly 3 year-old son Clay, with his wife Carissa. His shoe/foot/biomechanical knowledge is immense and enhanced by his degree in exercise science.
Jenny HendricksonSoftgoods Buyer
Jenny worked full time at the shop until she and her husband Shane gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Owen (9 months). She still plays a huge role at the store both working on the floor and as our clothing buyer. Jenny started our popular FootZone Women’s Running Group and continues to lead that group on a weekly basis. With 4 1/2 years at the shop, she’s great at fitting shoes, bras and activewear, and keeping us a little more fashionable.
Chris Maley
Chris is one of our full-time shoe fitters. His patience, humor, and calm demeanor make him stand out at the shop. He’s gained a great understanding of feet and footwear in his 7 years at FootZone, and takes the time to impart that knowledge to everyone that he helps. Chris has many talents, and shared one by putting together the Dirty Half video last year.
Nancy Archer
Nancy is often the life of the party here at FootZone. She’s a registered nurse by training but we’ve been lucky to have her at the shop for the past 5 years. Her sense of humor and general ability to keep Teague in line are appreciated at the Zone. Nancy doles out awesome footwear fittings but can also recommend a good read, recipe or parenting tip.
Tonya Littlehales
Tonya may be our most avid pursuer of fitness. She’s completed several Ironman triathlons, marathons and is currently training for the Comrades Marathon in South Africa. She is also, along with her husband Geoff, the organizer of USAFITBEND training programs. Tonya splits her work time between fitting shoes at FootZone and teaching classes at Juniper Fitness Center.
Melanie Mangin
Melanie is the reason we are in business since she pays all the bills and puts up with sharing Teague’s not-so-tidy space in the backroom. She’s vying for title’s of CFO, Personal Assistant and Caterer (all well deserved) and is certainly the most avid participant in our weekly FootZone activities. It’s rare that you WON’T find her at Tuesday Performance Group, Wednesday Noon Run, Thursday Strength Workout and the Women’s Running Group. She even drags her husband Steve and son Michael along sometimes. Her daughter Melissa is a nurse in Portland.
Kristen Riley
We don’t see enough of Kristen since she is also a school teacher. Still, for the past 3 years she’s helped out in the summers and a few times a month when she’s not chasing her kids around or whooping her husband Todd on a run (she’s fast).
Ryan Altman
Ryan finds time to work one day a week despite a full time job selling countertops and a family to help raise with his wife, Cheryl. How and why does he do it? Probably because he’s seriously into shoes and running and really likes the Zone.
