    FIT Specialist Job Description

A FootZone FIT Specialist is responsible for managing the overall customer experience. You will be interacting with customers, resolving customer issues and contributing to an upbeat, positive environment.

    A FootZone FIT Specialist is:

    • Understanding of what sets FootZone apart and why customers come into the store.
    • Able to show patience and superior customer service in all situations.
    • Willing to go above and beyond when needed.
    • Flexible and have a positive attitude toward change.
    • Independent drive to meet and exceed sales goals.

Are you a team player? FootZone is a family and we work closely with each other, sometimes under stress. And no matter what’s going on in your week, your team members will be counting on you to be here 100% when your shift starts. We all depend on each other and support each other. You need to be respectful and patient, and you also need to pull your own weight when it comes to customers and work that has to get done.

Are you willing to learn new things? People know us as the experts in fitting shoes and all products that we sell. You’ll need to make an effort to get educated about our products so that you can outfit each customer with everything they need for success in their activity. We’ll train you in the FootZone FIT process, and we expect you to utilize it with every customer that walks through our door.

Do you have a sales sense? Our customers appreciate learning about our product from shoe technology to the importance of carrying a hydration pack. You should be comfortable about suggesting items customers might enjoy.

Are you good at switching gears? When customer traffic slows, you will find yourself busy with stocking, cleaning, and more. But when a customer walks in the door, your focus has to switch 100% to friendly customer service, even if you are behind in your other tasks.

Can you stay calm and friendly under pressure? Imagine providing superior customer care to 2 or 3 customers at the same time (with your other team members doing the same) while 5 more guests are waiting. They all want the same level of attention and care, they want it in a timely fashion, and they want you to be friendly and appreciative. Things get very busy and there is always other work to be done. Expect a fast paced working environment.

Do you pay attention to the little things? It’s the little things that make our store so special, like remembering a customer’s name or what type of shoe they like. We expect our FIT specialists to pay attention to the little details.

Are you patient and eager to serve people? We expect FIT Specialists to take a friendly attitude towards customers. To smile and greet them as soon as they walk in, to make conversation with all kinds of people, to serve their needs, to take time and care for them.

    Essentials:

    • Comfortable working with customers in a one-on-one setting to ensure the proper fit of footwear, apparel and accessories by utilizing our FootZone FIT Process, promoting in-store events and training programs.
    • Be proactive in learning the details of each shoe, piece of apparel, and accessory line in the store, as well as the product’s fit and function.
    • Proficient at working independently and as a team member to ensure each customer receives a unique customer experience from the moment they walk in the store to the moment they walk out of the store.
    • Refined active listening ability to help build genuine relationships with customers and coworkers.
    • Efficient in helping to maintain organization, cleanliness, and stock storewide.
    • Be an ambassador for FootZone activities, functions, and events.
    • Must be comfortable working with feet.

    • 25-30 hours per week.
